We are first and foremost a community of people who generally share conservative principles and values. We don't agree on everything, but who would want that? Our members are mostly from the United States of America, the greatest nation in the history of the world. But, we also have many like-minded members from other countries. We come together here to discuss current events and build friendships.

This is a conservative political discussion forum. Many consider it to be the conservative alternative to Democratic Underground. Everyone from the most conservative republicans to the most liberal democrats are welcome to participate in the discussion as long as it is held in a civil manner.

In July of 2004, Young Elephant was launched as the first community for intellectual young conservatives eager to debate their beliefs. Young Elephant represents a full circle. In the 1960's it was the liberals that were ostracized in academia - today the liberals are academia and they have become The Man that they so vehemently opposed.
